Hollywood

I dreamed of this moment every since I seen him play

The day he retires and I take his place

The feeling of anticipation overwhelms my skin

As Halley’s comet passed my stage

Bright lights blinds the eyes like a shooting star

A sense of numbness fills my heart

The immense sound crowds the space

As I wait in line for my turn at the base

The screams are ear piercing to say the least

My thoughts get scrambled as I try to think

Re checking my outfit as if I’m not up to par

I can see the overall excitement circle the room

Each face is different but the smiles bloom

Hours ago I was in a spaceship racing through the milky way

The wind flowing through my hair as the giant up above caressed my face

Double checking each reflector avoiding dirt on the side skirts as I approach the overpass of the ant hill

I’m no different than Jack and Jill but the mirrors here changed my image to a daffodil

I’m the same as everyone else why are my words perceived as a framed work of art

I’m still human being but I feel like a shining star
