(Overcast, low breeze, 4th quarter, residential — close to the sea with a street in between, don’t forget the trees caving over maybe teepee)

…perfect day for a run or walkski. Shoes are tied but not suffocating. sporting a tech in case it rains either way I’m ready for the day

*Ehh, gps said 3.4 but it’s feeling more like 5.Pushing 1.2 thinking about turning around*

But its a perfect loop to my ride. It’s my first time on this track best part is smelling the fresh waves. Kinda wish I was on a boat maybe one day but not this day. I’m just stomping away

The trail had a bridge that turned into sidewalk now feels like I’m walking around a neighborhood which isn’t the worst. Pretty dead silent, no voices, bird chirping, not even a squirrel running by. It feels like a dead end but I’m confident it mellows out and shifts back towards the shore.

Hopefully?

No I’m positive this is a gps route. It feels a bit sketchy, but lets keep trekking through. Ahh finally signs of life 3 folk(2 gals and 1 guy) standing by some trees not speaking but staring out into the bay. There I go passing by with a swift “HI” with a return ‘HEY’ no eye contact or awkward wave.

After a few sways I can hear the shift of weight. Now I’m nervous I picked up a stray. Most likely I’m paranoid we’re just headed the same way. I can’t help notice the houses seem vacant and decayed. If I turn around it’ll look suspicious like I’m spooked. I won’t take out my phone, they’ll see the keys & bifold.

What should I do, run? I feel like that’s uncalled for and only leads to a pursuit. Should I stop and wait for them to pass by or C turn left down the next street, back track for a shorter route towards the V. Lets try plan A maybe a simple jog. I’ve never been in this situation hopefully its nothing at all.

I don’t feel too great but the wind in my face or my belongings in the wind

Ugh, once again this sucks. I’ve never considered myself a runner I always feel stupid while doing the thing. I could never run a marathon for fun but for a sense of survival or your occasional vicious stray I’m Usain Bolt at the start of a race.

I’ve reached a great distance away at my surprise. I’m pacing well found the way back onto the trail and another reason to laugh. “My Pursuers” are opening a garage further down the roadway as I find my footing moving at a reasonable haste. This feels really nice and I’m thankful I came out.

My legs have stopped buckling as I switched into that sweet spot for this run. Stable breath, rhythmic steps starting to break a sweat, there she is out in the distance my lovely ride home.

What’d you know, at least my feet didn’t get wet
